While  few Guyanese companies use e-commerce, the number is growing.  However, a number of companies have been offering on-line shopping services to procure goods from overseas.   Guyana is  still primarily  a cash-based economy.  Credit cards are not widely used in Guyana and not recommended for use by visiting business people outside of the major hotels in Georgetown.  4G cellular service is available from one of the two cell phone companies, but typically speeds do not reach U.S. levels.
