Under current law, Algerian citizens may not purchase items online from abroad. Businesses, however, may purchase items online from abroad for internal use. American businesspeople interested in online sales should note that the use of private credit cards is extremely limited in Algeria. Only recently have Algerians gained the use of international credit cards (e.g. Mastercard and Visa) issued by some local banks and accepted for use abroad.
