Turkey remains on the 2019 Watch List in the USTR’s annual Special 301 Report.  Turkey continues to make legal progress by drafting IP laws such as the proposed Copyright Law and drafted an inter-ministerial 2019-2023 Intellectual Property (IP) strategy to address IP related issues.  However, there are several overarching areas of concern including IP protection and enforcement, particularly related to localized production in the pharmaceutical sector.  Additionally, Turkey is a significant source of counterfeit goods and serves as a transshipment point due to its geographic location.  To view the Turkey IP Snapshot for country-specific information, please visit StopFakes
