  • Growing in popularity: Direct marketing opportunities through the internet and mobile devices are growing in popularity in The Bahamas. To date, 255,000 Bahamians have direct access to high-speed internet (upwards of 16.62 MBPS). In addition, mobile marketing is expected to increase as the mobile telecommunications sector has recently been liberalized.  Social media is also growing in popularity as a means to market both products and services.

  • Ease of Shipping: Many direct marketing companies have established independent shipping capacity and most goods purchased are delivered in The Bahamas within 48 hours.  Many Bahamians use credit cards and routinely use the services of direct mail franchise operators (Mailbox etc.) to have purchased items delivered to a U.S. Post Office Box.  Some firms also arrange in-store pick up on behalf of clients.    The cost for shipping services vary but there appears to be a growing number of firms offering similar services.

  • Successes: Network marketing successes have been realized in the promotion of MLM products such as Ardyss, Avon, Amway International, and Herbalife.
