Memorandum of Intent with Patronatul Apei

On September 28, 2011 the U.S. Commercial Service of the American Embassy in Romania signed a Memorandum of Intent with Patronatul Apei, the leading association of water utilities in Romania.

The American – Romanian Water Partnership seeks to introduce and promote American solutions to the Romanian water and wastewater market, and provide a platform for the exchange of expertise between Romanian and American professionals.



The Agreement recognizes the close and cooperative relationship between the U.S. Commercial Service and Patronatul Apei. Working together, these two groups have made a tremendous contribution to the professional and technical development of Romania’s water industry. Through numerous delegations to industry conferences in the United States, exhibitions and technical seminars in Romania, and site visits to centers of excellence in third countries, this partnership has insured that Romanian industry is fully aware of the latest technologies and practices.

The Official Signing Ceremony was hosted by RAJA Constanta and was attended by high level officials, including local authorities and members of the Romanian Parliament. The ceremony was preceded by a Water Industry Seminar which highlighted the U.S. solutions already implemented on the Romanian market. Prestigious firms such as 3M, General Electric and Motorola were among the attendants.
