Energy Soiree on Smart Grids
On February 24, 2011 The U.S. Commercial Service of the American Embassy, in partnership with KPMG (www.kpmg.ro), organized the third edition in a series of “Energy Soirees” at the Intercontinental Hotel in Bucharest. The evening’s discussions focused on the subject of “Smart Grids,” a development priority of the Romanian Government for which it has prepared a National Task Force and Action Plan. The Action Plan includes close cooperation with the U.S. Commercial Service to identify and introduce U.S. solutions and financing resources for implementation of Smart Grid pilot projects in Romania. The event featured Ministry of Economy’s State Secretary Karoly Borbely and Ministry Advisor Tudor Serban and drew an audience made of the major Romanian energy players and U.S. companies specialized in Smart Grid technologies.
