The U.S. Commercial Service within the United States Embassy together with RAJA Constanta and the Romanian Water Association organized the "U.S. Water and Wastewater Industry Promotion Program" at the Constanta Exhibition Center from April 28-30, 2010. The event featured twelve American companies with capabilities and technologies for the treatment of water and wastewater. The program opened at 4:00p.m. on Wednesday, April 28 with a format that included both an exhibition and a series of technical seminars in order to facilitate a discussion of best practices. An industry networking reception took place that evening.
The event attracted a wide audience from both the public and private sectors, many of whom will be seeking potential partnerships with the U.S. companies to respond to specific challenges in the field of water treatment.
The U.S. companies participating include the following:
"We would like to help accelerate the pace of progress for Romania’s water and wastewater treatment infrastructure," commented Keith Kirkham, Commercial Attaché with the U.S. Embassy in Bucharest. "This event will introduce American solutions to the market, but also provide a platform for the exchange of expertise between Romanian and American professionals."
This event in Constanta continues the U.S. Commercial Service’s strategy for addressing Romania’s infrastructure needs. On March 4, its "Water and Energy" seminar in Bucharest presented technologies to improve the performance and productivity of water and energy utilities.
"We are very grateful for the partnership of RAJA Constanta and the Romanian Water Association. These two groups share our view that water is a key sector vital to the Romania’s economic development."
