Through a close working relationship with Romania’s Patronatul Apei (The Association of Owners of Water Utilities), CS Bucharest has identified the EU requirement for tertiary treatment as an area in which the water utilities need to evaluate solutions. The utilities proved to be highly receptive to the capabilities and solutions offered by GE, particularly its membrane bioreactor technology and expressed their interest in having CS Bucharest arrange a briefing at GE’s manufacturing facility in Hungary.
On March 18, 2010, a Romanian delegation made of 30 water companies’ executive managers visited GE Plant in Tatabanya, Hungary. The visit was preceded by a briefing session where GE explained the benefits of its technology and gained first-hand information on upcoming opportunities. The Romanian water utilities were very pleased with the visit and they all indicated multiple opportunities to implement GE’s membrane bioreactor technology.
