R&D Spending on the Rise

More and more money is spent on research and development in Poland, both in the public sphere and the private sector. This year, companies’ R&D spending will amount to some zł.2.19 billion, an impressive increase from the last year’s zł.258 million. The state does not want to stay behind as the total R&D spending of the Ministry of Science and Higher Education, the National Science Centre, and the National Centre for Research and Development will amount to approximately zł.5.48 billion this year, compared to only zł.1.28 billion in 2010. And these numbers are likely to get higher in the forthcoming years, writes Gazeta Wyborcza. The Ministry of Science plans introducing several legislative changes that would encourage entrepreneurs to increase their spending in the R&D field which is commonly known to be quite neglected in Poland.
