Environmental Technologies Upcoming International Trade Events

Expand Your Exports into Canada: Participate in the U.S. Pavilion at AMERICANA 2015 – March 17-19, 2015 -- Montreal

The U.S. Commercial Service in Canada is proud to host the U.S. Pavilion for the AMERICANA 2015 International Environmental Technology Trade Show and Conference taking place in Montreal on March 17-19, 2015.

AMERICANA 2015 will provide an opportunity for U.S. business representatives from the environmental services and technology industry to meet and discuss their interests with Canadian corporations and municipalities. The Pavilion will include a minimum of ten U.S suppliers of environmental technologies and services representing a wide range of activities. Also, the United States will have increased exposure due to their status as the country of honor, and the coinciding celebration of AMERICANA's 20th anniversary.

As natural resource extraction is a prevalent part of the Canadian and Quebec economy, this is a particularly exciting opportunity for U.S. suppliers of environmental services tailored towards the mining and energy sector, offering services such as groundwater and soil remediation, environmental risk/impact assessments, waste management, environmental consulting, sustainable oil field and mine water management, regulatory compliance, tailings management and wastewater treatment. There are also many opportunities for firms that offer services and technologies towards municipalities as well.

We would greatly appreciate your support in promoting AMERICANA 2015 within your organization and to your clients and /or partners. We strongly believe that your members and associates would benefit from participation at this event. Your assistance in this regard would be greatly appreciated and will further develop trade for both Canadian and U.S. firms.

17th Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) – April 21-23, 2015 – Dubai, UAE

The 16th Water, Energy, Technology and Environment Exhibition (WETEX) in 2014 hosted 1,500 exhibitors from 42 countries and approximately 20,000 visitors. The largest regional event of its kind, it aims to attract over 1,500 exhibitors from over 42 countries in 2015. The 17th WETEX 2015 supports this strategy, and its theme is ‘Enabling Sustainable Smart Solutions.’ For show details see: www.wetex.ae

The UAE water sector is well-financed and poised for growth. The nation’s average water consumption ranks 82% above global average and is expected to grow 30% by 2030. Groundwater is the largest water source and is used primarily in the agricultural and industrial sectors while potable water is supplied mainly through desalination. Population growth, economic development and rising standards of living in the region have increased water demand.

With more than US$8bn to be invested in the period up to 2020, the energy market in the UAE is expected to remain highly attractive to regional and international developers. Key segments include thermal, renewables, and nuclear. It should be noted that the government has advanced plans to expand installed capacity by more than 50% over the next 10 years.

The UAE aspires to be among the best countries in the world by 2021. The UAE Government Strategy 2011-2014 lays the foundations to achieve the UAE Vision 2021, launched by His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai. It forms the basis upon which the Federal Entities develop their strategic and operational plans and consists of seven general principles, seven strategic priorities and seven strategic enablers.
