INTERNATIONAL EDUCATION MISSION

March 15 – March 21, 2015: Education Mission to Central America

The United States Department of Commerce (USDOC) is organizing an education mission to El Salvador and Honduras with an optional stop to Nicaragua. The USDOC is collaborating with the Department of State’s EducationUSA Advising Centers for this mission. The education mission’s emphasis will be on U.S. higher education, focusing on, in order of importance, intensive English language programs, community colleges, and summer undergraduate and graduate programs.

September 13–14, 2014: U.S. Consulate Education Fair in Kazakhstan

Organized by the U.S. Commercial Service and the Public Affairs Office at the U.S. Consulate General, U.S. colleges and universities will have the opportunity to recruit Kazakh students on Saturday, September 13 in Almaty; and Sunday, September 14 in Shymkent, a one-hour flight away. $750 registration fee covers a booth at both at fairs.

Over the past few years, based on the number of participating schools and student attendance, the OH! Study International Education Expo has grown to be one of the largest education fairs in Taiwan. It is a four-day integrated event in Taiwan’s three major cities: Taipei, Taichung and Kaohsiung. The fair typically has 100 participants and over 15,000 attendees. Since 2007, Commercial Service Taiwan has co-sponsored the OH! Study International Education Expo. In addition, the OH! Study Education Center publishes many catalogues and education guides and maintains extensive web pages and online programs to promote study opportunities in the U.S. year round.

October 24 – October 25, 2014: Commerce-supported Student Recruitment Group-Marketing Events in Vietnam

April 16 -18, 2015: EducationUSA Fair – Germany

The U.S. Mission to Germany is pleased to promote EducationUSA fairs in Hamburg and Heidelberg, jointly organized by EducationUSA, the Public Affairs Office, and the U.S. Commercial Service in Germany. Germany is the twelfth leading place of origin for students coming to the United States, with 9,819 students in 2013. Both cities have strong ties to the United States and a large student population. Staff from the U.S. Mission in Germany will be on hand to promote education opportunities in the United States as well as counsel potential students on benefits of studying in the United States. High school visits will be part of the program and these event dates are coordinated with other EducationUSA fair opportunities in Europe.
