Medical Fair India 2014 Detailed Event Information For Medical Fair India 2014
Medical Fair India 2014 -- Medical Eq.
Location/Date: Mumbai, India 03/14/2014 - 03/16/2014
Event Summary:
Medical Fair India is India's No. 1 fair for hospitals, healthcare centers and clinics. The Indian healthcare industry is experiencing a rapid transformation and is emerging as a promising market for U.S. suppliers of high-end products. The Indian healthcare market, currently valued at $65 billion annually, is expected to reach $100 billion by 2015. The growth in affluence of more than 300 million middle-income consumers is creating demand for higher standards of healthcare. The changing demographic profile and the rise of lifestyle-related diseases have altered the health seeking behavior of the consumer.

The medical infrastructure in India is insufficient for the population, with demand for hospitals and beds far exceeding supply. The problem is acute in rural India, which accounts for over half of India's population, while about 80 percent of available hospital beds are located in the urban centers. Both government and private operators have major expansion plans to meet demand and increase quality. The Union government has decided to increase health expenditure to 2.5% of GDP by the end of the Twelfth Five Year Plan (2012-17) from the current 1.4%.

Medical Fair India promoted by Messe Düsseldorf, the organizers of Medica, has been growing in terms of participants. In 2013, it had 410 exhibitors and 7,636 visitors. The fair showcases a wide range of medical products and the latest medical technologies.
