|CORCON 2014 (TFC Event) -- Architectural/Constr./Engineering SVC, Chemical Production Machinery, Construction Eq., Environmental Technologies|
CORCON 2014 will provide an excellent opportunity for exchange of information on matters concerning corrosion.
The hallmark of CORCON series of corrosion conferences is the support NIGIS receives from the industry, academia, R&D and defense establishments across the corrosion fraternity. It also provides a unique networking platform for interaction amongst professionals from large PSUs or Governmental agencies and the private industries.
CORCON 2014 is being held in Mumbai Nov. 12-15, 2014 and is a priority event for CS India.
India loses more than $40 billion a year - about 4% of the size of the total economy - due to corrosion in infrastructure and industrial processes. CS India identified Corrosion Control (CORCON) as a core sector and accordingly a national team was formed to promote this sector. Currently, the new CS CORCON team is working with the National Association of Corrosion Engineers (NACE), represented by the NACE International Gateway India Section (NIGIS), to understand the issues involved and develop export opportunities for U.S. companies in this sector, covering a wide range of industries in the Indian economy.
NACE International Gateway India Section (NIGIS) of NACE International, USA was established in 1992 to promote corrosion awareness. CS India has started working with NIGIS to promote U.S. standards in corrosion and has chalked out a series of programs to highlight the opportunities for U.S. companies in the corrosion control sector.
