| Event Summary: | ||||
|
Exposeguridad, an annual show, was launched in 2003 and has grown at a rate of 30 percent yearly in space sales. It is the most important event of its kind in Mexico, the largest in terms of international exhibitors, and one of the most important in Latin America. There is a growing awareness of security in Mexico due to high rates of kidnapping, theft, and homicides, many of which are drug- and gang-related, as well as post-9/11 terrorism policies, stricter local ordinances, and insurance company regulations. The size of the market for security goods and services in Mexico is now estimated at more than $2 billion yearly. The 2008 edition of the show resulted in a 20 percent increase in attendance and a 25 percent increase in exhibition space. |
