InfoComm is the world's premier annual exposition and conference for the professional audiovisual information communications industry. InfoComm hosts exhibitors who are direct manufacturers and distributors of professional audio, video, display, multimedia, presentation, conferencing, digital signage, streaming media, security, residential systems and other high technology products and services for non-broadcast applications in the corporate, government, military, education, healthcare and numerous other vertical markets. The products on display at InfoComm are used in professional rental and staging presentation systems, boardrooms, conference centers, transportation terminals, auditoriums, training facilities, command and control centers, stadiums, retail centers, theaters, classrooms, and other settings, both small and large, where information is being shared or communicated. No other industry event in the U.S. showcases the breadth and depth of products and technologies in the professional audiovisual information communications industry that are on display every year at InfoComm. InfoComm hosts the annual conference of InfoComm International (formerly known as the International Communications Industries Association), which has a 69 year history as the premier not-for-profit professional audio visual trade association. InfoComm International has more than 5,000 member firms representing tens of thousands of professionals from all 50 U.S. states and more than 90 countries. Last year, InfoComm 2008, in Las Vegas, NV, used 500,000 net square feet of exhibit and special events space, up 8 percent, compared to 465,000 of paid exhibit and special events space used in Anaheim, CA, in 2007. Nine hundred eighty-eight exhibitors participated in InfoComm 2008, a 16 percent increase over 2007's record of 855 exhibitors. The total professional attendance, excluding exhibitor personnel, at InfoComm 2008 was up 58 percent to 33,513. The total number of international visitors increased 31 percent to 5,628, while the total number of domestic visitors, 27,885, increased 65 percent. In addition, the number of countries represented at InfoComm 2008 also increased, rising 9 percent to 98 countries. In conjunction with the exposition, annually InfoComm offers more than 350 educational workshops and seminars focusing on a wide range of topics from ‘How-To' sessions to lectures on technology, theory and application.
