On Friday, March 30rd, 2012, An International Breakfast Forum with U.S. Ambassador to Mexico, E. Anthony Wayne was hosted by the California Chamber of Commerce with the US Department of Commerce along with co-hosts: the Consulate General of Mexico, Northern California World Trade Center, Sacramento Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, Sacramento Metro Chamber of Commerce, and Sacramento Regional Center for International Trade Development. It was held at the California Chamber of Commerce facility in the Esquire Plaza Building in Sacramento, California.
The event began at 8:30AM with a complimentary continental breakfast and reception. Approximately, 80 business and community leaders were present at the forum. At 8:50AM, Ambassador Wayne was welcomed and introduced by Mr. Allan Zaremberg, the President and Chief Executive Officer, and Mrs. Susanne Stirling, the Vice President of the California Chamber of Commerce.
Ambassador Wayne spoke substantially on the U.S. National Export Initiative(NEI)and the top issues relating to U.S. and Mexico relations including: trade, migration, trucking, bi-national security, illegal arms and drug trafficking, and how this affects both countries. In attendance was the Consul General of Mexico to Sacramento, Carlos Gonzalez Gutierrez. The U.S. Ambassador dialoged with the Mexican Consul General in open forum. Ambassador Wayne also entertained questions from the audience.
Concluding the breakfast event, Ambassador Wayne awarded the Export Achievement Certificate to Varna Products of Cameron Park, California. The President, Mr. Thomas Martin Jr., and the Sales and Business Development Manager, Ms. Tiffany McAchran, were acknowledged for their excellence in exporting and were presented with the Export Achievement Certificate with their Trade Specialist, Sacramento USEAC Director George Tastard.
