World Trade Center

Financial Risk
Mitigation:
Leveraging Multilateral
Development Bank Financial Products
Each year, the World Bank, the
Inter-American Development Bank, the Asian Development
Bank, the African Development Bank, and the
European Bank for Reconstruction and Development
extend a combined total of almost $50 billion
in loans, grants, and investments to the public
and private sectors for economic and social
development in developing markets. The 2007
conference expanded on the success of past conferences
and targeted effective strategies for working
with the Banks private sector financing
arms. The morning session highlighted U.S. Government
services at the Banks, as well as provided perspectives
on policy directions and opportunities. U.S.
corporate leaders also detailed their successes
with the Multilateral Development Banks (MDBs).
The afternoon session presented the views of
Bank experts who manage investment products
and decisions and oversee procurement processes.
