• DISASTER RESILIENCE WORKSHOP

May 19 - 20, 2015

ADB Headquarters, Mandaluyong City, Philippines

The Asian Development Bank (ADB) is organizing a “Disaster Resilient Infrastructure Development: Role of Technologies”, May 19-20, 2015 at the ADB Headquarters in Manila.

Interested private sector participants are requested to send concept papers on innovative and resilient technology solutions that may be applied to development projects.  These submissions will be considered by ADB operations groups for adoption into project design and discussion at the workshop.

Submissions may be accepted until March 30. Please note that firms are welcome to participate even without a concept paper.

Registration: Please email Mr. Naoki Sakai (E-mail: nsakai@adb.org)

This event is a unique opportunity for US firms to showcase their technology to decision-making government officials from the 67 ADB member countries (20 donors and 40+ emerging markets).  The ADB offers a wealth of opportunities derived from the $22 billion that the bank provides annually to its emerging market member countries to pay for procurement contracts derived from ADB’s development projects.

ADB is holding this workshop to integrate disaster risk management into its development plan for the region.  It is intended to be a “knowledge matching exercise between ADB, and its public and private sector partners” that will identify and adopt innovative and cost effective technologies and products. Beyond disaster resilience, the exercise will encompass all infrastructure sectors (energy, transport, urban and rural development, water supply and others).
