On January 25, 2015, CS Kenya's Senior Commercial Specialist Humphrey Lilech participated at Arab Health Expo 2015 in Dubai, UAE as part of a 35-person official USG delegation from various EMEA countries including CS Ethiopia, Jerusalem, Egypt, Kuwait, Bahrain, Qatar, Saudi Arabia, South Africa, Nigeria, Oman and the UAE.
CS Nairobi staffed a booth at the 3rd East Africa Oil & Gas Summit October 15-17, 2014, an annual event that attracted senior executives from more than 200 companies across the oil and gas value chain. The event also attracted key government officials from Kenya, Uganda, Tanzania, South Sudan, Malawi, Ethiopia, Mozambique, Somalia and Madagascar.
On April 5, 2014 Kenya Airways received delivery of a new Boeing 787-8 Dreamliner valued at over $200 million. U.S. Ambassador to Kenya, Robert F. Godec, was one of the welcoming dignitaries participating in the event. SCO Peters participated in the welcoming event, which featured representatives from Boeing and GE.
November 5-6, 2013, CS Kenya hosted eight ECON officers and staff from CS Partner Posts in Ethiopia, South Sudan, Uganda, Rwanda, and Tanzania for training in commercial tradecraft. SCO Francis Peters and Sr. Commercial Specialist Humphrey Lilech led the training which covered CS services, advocacy, trade complaints, case studies, and other key areas. Economic growth in East Africa is expected to remain among the fastest in Africa this year, and demand for the services of the U.S. Commercial Service and its Partner Posts continue to rise
On October 25, 2013, Kenya Airways received delivery of a new Boeing 777-300ER aircraft valued at over $300 million. U.S. Ambassador to Kenya, Robert F. Godec, was the guest of honor and gave opening remarks at the welcoming ceremony hosted by Kenya Airways. SCO Peters participated in the welcoming event, which featured representatives from Boeing, GE, and the Kenya Airport Authority, and which took place at Jomo Kenyatta International Airport as the jet landed after a 16-hour non-stop flight from Seattle.
